Terms of Service

By accessing or using the ARATEC platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

ARATEC reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

ARATEC is a digital utility payments platform that enables users in Nigeria to purchase airtime, data bundles, prepaid and postpaid electricity, cable TV subscriptions (DSTV and GOtv), and examination cards (WAEC and JAMB) through a single interface.

The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis. ARATEC acts as an aggregator and intermediary between users and third-party service providers (networks, DisCos, cable operators, examination bodies). Fulfillment of services is ultimately dependent on these third parties.

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Nigeria to use the Service. By using ARATEC, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

Accounts may not be created on behalf of another person without explicit authorisation. Corporate or business accounts are subject to additional verification requirements.

To access certain features, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

You agree to notify ARATEC immediately of any unauthorised access to your account. ARATEC will not be liable for any loss arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.

All transactions are processed in Nigerian Naira (NGN). Service fees, where applicable, will be clearly disclosed before you confirm any transaction. ARATEC reserves the right to adjust fees with reasonable notice.

Payments are processed through secure, PCI-DSS compliant payment processors. ARATEC does not store full card details on its servers.

Transaction confirmations are not guarantees of fulfilment where third-party providers experience outages. ARATEC will make commercially reasonable efforts to complete all confirmed transactions.

If a transaction fails after payment has been deducted, ARATEC will initiate a refund to your wallet or original payment method within 24–72 hours, depending on your bank or card provider's processing time.

Completed transactions (where value has been delivered — airtime topped up, token generated, etc.) are non-refundable. For disputes, contact support@aratec.ng within 7 days of the transaction date.

ARATEC is not liable for losses arising from incorrect details provided by the user (e.g., wrong phone number, meter number, or smartcard number).

You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform; use automated tools to make bulk purchases without written permission; resell ARATEC services without an authorised reseller agreement.

ARATEC reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts found in violation of these terms without prior notice.

All content, trademarks, logos, and software comprising the ARATEC platform are the intellectual property of ARATEC and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit written consent.

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, ARATEC shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

ARATEC's total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid to ARATEC in the 30 days preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
